The invention belongs to the technical field of steel slag production and application, and discloses a steel slag treatment technology. The steel slag treatment technology comprises the following steps that: 1) pretreatment is performed on steel slag, wherein the pretreatment involves hot splashing treatment and piling braising; and (2) steel slag obtained after pretreatment in the step (1) is screened after being subjected to three-stage crushing, materials with the particle size smaller than or equal to 8 mm are directly subjected to multi-stage magnetic separation, magnetic substances are final product steel fine powder, non-magnetic substances are final product tailings, materials with the particle size larger than 8 mm enter a rod mill to be crushed again, the crushed materials are screened again, the materials with the particle size larger than 8 mm are sorted through a magnetic separator, magnetic substances are final product particle steel, and non-magnetic substances circularly enter the rod mill. According to the process of the technology, sewage and visual pollution are not generated, production is not affected by regions and seasons, and the TFe grade of the steel fine powder and the recovery rate of the magnetic substance are improved; and the application channel of the steel slag tailings is widened, the steel slag tailings can be used for road surface layers in alpine regions, the benefits of the tailings are improved, and cyclic utilization of metallurgical solid waste resources is achieved.
