The invention discloses zirconia ceramic. The zirconia ceramic comprises the following components in percentage by mol: 90 to 92 mol% of zirconia, 5 to 6.5 mol% of cerium oxide and 2 to 4 mol% of yttrium oxide. The invention further discloses a preparation method of a ceramic scalpel. The preparation method comprises the following steps: carrying out ball milling on mixed particles of zirconia, cerium oxide and yttrium oxide, subjecting the ball-milled mixed particles to mixing and stirring with an adhesive, and successively carrying out defoaming, casting, laminating, isostatic pressing, degreasing and sintering. According to the zirconia ceramic and the ceramic scalpel, zirconia is used as a basic material, and rare earth oxides, namely yttrium oxide and cerium oxide are added, so a formed zirconia-based material can obtain higher toughness and hardness and has excellent mechanical properties; and through interaction of multiple stabilizers, the properties of the material in other aspects such as aging resistance and phase stability are optimized.
