The bidirectional shear damper comprises a bottom plate, a top plate and steel bars, the bottom plate and the top plate are vertically arranged in parallel, steel bar hole positions are formed in the opposite positions of the bottom plate and the top plate, and the two ends of each steel bar are arranged in the steel bar hole positions in the bottom plate and the steel bar hole positions in the top plate respectively and fixedly welded to the bottom plate and the top plate.
