A simulated window unit (2) is provided with: a window frame (28) that is disposed on a wall section (20) and that has an opening section (38); an image display device (8) that is disposed so as to face the opening (38) of the window frame (28) and that displays a landscape image to the indoor space (16) through the opening (38) of the window frame (28); a light source (36) that is disposed between the window frame (28) and the image display device (8) and that emits light that simulates sunlight to the indoor space (16) through an opening (38) of the window frame (28); and a sash (30) that shields a portion of the light from the light source (36).
