The invention provides a prefabricated friction damping wall structure and an installation method thereof. The prefabricated friction damping wall structure structurally comprises a frame, a damping wallboard set arranged in the frame and a T-shaped connecting piece used for connecting the frame and the damping wallboard set. The damping wallboard set is formed in a prefabricated mode, field manufacturing is avoided, and the assembling efficiency is improved; the damping wallboard group is connected with the frame through the T-shaped connecting piece, so that the situation that the damping wallboard group is directly connected with the frame, and the wallboard unit horizontally moves during an earthquake is avoided; the T-shaped connecting pieces can limit the displacement outside the wall surface of the damping wallboard group, so that the wallboard units are prevented from being damaged by tension and collapsing outside the plane.
