The invention provides a transversely-mounted prefabricated damping wall structure and a construction method thereof, and relates to the technical field of constructions.The transversely-mounted prefabricated damping wall structure comprises a frame, a plurality of transversely-mounted wallboard sets are arranged in the frame in the height direction, and each transversely-mounted wallboard set comprises a plurality of spliced wallboards; the two sides of the transversely-installed wallboard set are fixedly connected with the frame through embedded connecting pieces which are embedded in a concave-convex mode. According to the invention, the plurality of spliced wallboards are spliced to form the transversely-mounted wallboards, and the plurality of transversely-mounted wallboards are filled into the frame to form the wall body structure, so that the large-size integral wallboard is decomposed into the plurality of small-size spliced wallboards, and the manufacturing and transportation cost of the damping wall body can be obviously reduced; the transversely-mounted wall plates and the frame are connected through the embedded connecting pieces which are embedded in a concave-convex mode, the constraining force between the wall plates and the frame can be effectively enhanced, and out-of-plane instability of the wall plates is avoided. Due to the fact that the wall boards are spliced and connected in an embedded mode, a wall body at a certain damaged position is more convenient to replace, and maintenance cost is saved.
