The invention relates to a building panel (11) comprising a balancing layer (4) having a top face and a bottom face, the balancing layer (4) comprising a first wood veneer (10) having a textured direction (G); a first sub-layer (3a) arranged on the top surface of the balancing layer (4), the first sub-layer (3a) comprising a first adhesive; a core (2) arranged on the first sub-layer (3a); a surface layer (1) arranged on the core (2), the surface layer (1) having a top surface and a bottom surface, where the top surface of the surface layer (1) is adapted to become a visible surface of the building panel when installed, the length of extension of the balancing layer (4) in a direction parallel to the texture direction (G) of the first wood veneer (10) is equal to or smaller than the length of extension of the core (2) in a direction parallel to the texture direction (G) of the first wood veneer (10), and the balancing layer (4) is arranged within the extent of extension of the core (2) in the direction parallel to the texture direction (G) of the first wood veneer (10). The present disclosure also relates to a method of producing such a building panel.
