The invention provides a vehicle trunk door opening method and system. The method comprises the steps that a plurality of UWB nodes are arranged on a vehicle; and measuring the distance between the UWB equipment matched with the vehicle and each UWB node so as to judge whether the UWB equipment is in a set area away from the vehicle and/or the UWB equipment moves relative to the vehicle according to a set path, and if so, starting a trunk door opening identification function of the vehicle. Namely, the positioning data and the track data of the UWB equipment are acquired by using the plurality of UWB nodes to assist in judging the kicking action, so that the correct recognition rate of the kicking action is improved under the condition that the requirement on chip resources is not increased, and the accuracy of the kicking action is improved. The benefit brought by combining with more signals is the reduction of the requirements on the accuracy and the speed of a trunk door opening recognition algorithm, so that the requirements on a chip are reduced, and the purposes of reliability and cost reduction are achieved.
