The invention discloses a novel retaining wall drainage material construction method, and relates to the technical field of retaining wall drainage, and the novel retaining wall drainage material construction method comprises the following steps: measuring and setting out, determining a foundation size, then binding reinforcing steel bars, erecting a formwork, and pouring concrete to form a wall body of a retaining wall; according to the size of a wall body, a water filtering plate is machined through plastic hot melting and wire burning cooling die casting, and a plurality of criss-cross drainage grooves are machined in the side face of one side of the water filtering plate; after wall construction is completed, the side face, provided with the drainage grooves, of the drainage plate is installed on the wall in an abutting mode, and the drainage plate blocks the drainage holes in the wall; a layer of geotechnical cloth is laid on the outer side face of the water filtering plate, the area of the geotechnical cloth is larger than that of the water filtering plate, and the edge of the geotechnical cloth is pressed on the wall body through the water filtering plate; the water filtering plate is fixed on the wall body by using cement gun nails on the outer side of the water filtering plate; and after the water filtering plate is fixed, wall back backfilling operation is carried out. The drainage effect is better, and blocking is not prone to occurring.
