The invention discloses steel rail grinding equipment based on a high-pressure water jet technology. The steel rail grinding equipment comprises a flat car (1), a water jet grinding unit (2) arranged in the flat car (1), a track measuring unit (5), a grinding control terminal (6) and a hydraulic driving device (9). The hydraulic driving device (9) comprises a speed sensor (911) and a position sensor (912), and the water jet polishing unit (2) comprises a lifting mechanism (21) connected with the flat car (1), a polishing water jet cutter (22) connected with the lifting mechanism (21), a water flow pressure regulating device (23) and an abrasive feeding device (24), wherein the water flow pressure regulating device (23) and the abrasive feeding device (24) are communicated with the polishing water jet cutter (22). The central controller controls the flat car to move to the polishing operation coordinates in real time, and the water jet polishing unit automatically adjusts the position and posture along the circular arc of the mounting base for polishing according to different positions, different angles, different corrugations and different profiles of the steel rail.
