The invention discloses a reinforcing structure and method for a beam side formwork. The reinforcing structure is characterized in that a row of longitudinal battens is arranged on each of the two sides of the beam side formwork; the outer sides of the longitudinal battens on the two sides are each fixedly connected with a row of vertical battens. A row of longitudinal battens are fixedly connected to the side faces of the upper portions of the vertical battens on the two sides and below a floor formwork close to the beam. The lower ends of the vertical battens on the two sides are firmly clamped to the joints of the erected horizontal rods, the erected vertical rods and the erected longitudinal rods. The longitudinal battens connected with the side faces of the upper portions are firmly clamped to the joints of the erected horizontal rods and the erected longitudinal rods. According to the reinforcing method, the reinforcing structure is implemented, and reinforcing is achieved through symmetrical extrusion force of the beam plate. According to the reinforcing structure and method, split bolts and sickle clamps are not needed, drilling of the formwork is not needed, the operation efficiency is higher, and the construction process is safer.
