According to the cofferdam anti-seepage structure and the construction method thereof, a main rockfill body is located on the upstream face of a riverway, a secondary rockfill body is located on the downstream face of the riverway, a concrete anchoring groove is formed in a riverbed between the main rockfill body and the secondary rockfill body, a composite geomembrane is anchored to the concrete anchoring groove and extends towards the top of a cofferdam, and the two sides of the composite geomembrane are filled with sand cushion layers; the composite geomembrane, the sand cushion layer and the transition material cushion layers are arranged in the main rockfill body, the two sides of the sand cushion layer are filled with transition material cushion layers, the composite geomembrane, the sand cushion layer and the transition material cushion layers are located in the auxiliary rockfill body, a watertight filling body is arranged on the upstream face slope of the main rockfill body, and connected block stone revetments are arranged on the upstream face slope of the auxiliary rockfill body and the upstream face slope of the main rockfill body. The composite geomembrane can be installed under the condition that river closure is formed, the composite geomembrane is easy and convenient to install, and the cofferdam body is good in anti-seepage effect. Unnecessary engineering can be reduced, so that the construction period is guaranteed or shortened, and the method has the advantages of using local materials, reducing material mining, being convenient to construct and low in engineering cost.
