The invention discloses a method for applying red mud to zero carbon emission in cement production, which comprises the following steps: S1, pretreatment: mixing and activating red mud and tail gas generated in cement production; s2, reactants obtained after the red mud and the tail gas are mixed and activated are subjected to separation treatment through an electromagnetic separator and a gravity separator, and the reactants are separated into metal solids, non-metal solids and purified water; s3, mixing the metal solid and the non-metal solid, and then carrying out pyrolytic reaction; s4, performing electromagnetic separation on reactants after the pyrolytic reaction, and separating the reactants into carbonate solid powder and non-carbonate solid powder; s5, the non-carbonate solid powder is subjected to petrochemical treatment; and S6, crushing after petrochemical treatment to prepare the cement clinker. The method has the advantages that the red mud can be fully treated, the red mud is used for treating carbon dioxide in a cement plant, waste is treated with waste, resources are saved, and the treatment cost is reduced.
