The flue gas emission treatment method comprises the following steps: enabling flue gas to sequentially pass through a sieve plate and a water seal layer with a certain thickness formed on the sieve plate and then to be discharged into the atmosphere, and further comprises a step of eliminating liquid drops in the flue gas passing through the water seal layer, the method further comprises the step of leaching the flue gas before penetrating through the sieve plate and/or leaching the flue gas after penetrating through the water seal layer, the relative pressure of the flue gas before penetrating through the sieve plate is not lower than 50 Pa, and the flow velocity is not lower than 1 m/s. The invention further discloses an exhaust chimney, the exhaust chimney comprises a smoke exhaust pipeline, the smoke exhaust pipeline limits the flowing path of smoke, a sieve plate with a plurality of sieve holes is arranged in the smoke exhaust pipeline, and a water seal layer covering the top surface of the sieve plate is formed on the top surface of each sieve plate. The exhaust chimney disclosed by the invention is simple in structure, and an existing exhaust chimney can be directly modified on site, so that the investment of conveying equipment and treatment equipment can be correspondingly reduced, the environment-friendly treatment operation cost is saved, and the energy consumption is reduced.
