Chimney attachment and method of fitting a flue liner in a chimney
An attachment 100 for supporting a flue liner 10 in a chimney with a space 15 between the flue liner and chimney provides a first outlet 114 for venting flue gases in the flue liner to atmosphere and a second outlet 112 to vent gases in the space 15 to atmosphere. The liner is attached to an inner wall 150 that forms a support ring whilst outer wall 140 may extend downwardly to prevent the ingress of water. The top of the attachment can be flat, stepped, or other forms (figs 6-8). Resilient tabs (130, fig 5) may grip a chimney pot, or the attachment can be a pot hanger sat on a washer with corrugations that form the ventilation channels. The attachment can be retrofitted to the chimney or integral with the liner. In one embodiment the attachment is a chimney pot with a hole (1112, fig 9) as the second outlet. A rain cap (not illustrated) can be present.
