A method for preparing ceramsite by using crystal waste comprises the following steps: firstly, putting a certain amount of crystal waste into a ball mill, and adding a ball milling agent and grinding balls for grinding; secondly, drying the ground product, and screening by using a screen with a set mesh number to obtain a raw material; mixing the raw material with an additive in a stirring device; then putting the mixed raw material into a ball making machine, adding a proper amount of water, and carrying out a ball making process to obtain material balls; taking the pellets out of the tray, performing size screening, and returning to the step S3 for re-stirring and re-mixing if the pellets do not meet the size requirement; feeding the materials meeting the size requirement for sintering; calcining at the temperature of between 700 and 950 DEG C, wherein the calcining time is 0.5 to 2 hours; finally, standing and cooling; according to the method, the crystal waste is subjected to ball milling processing and reutilization, ceramsite is produced and used for greening and construction, the treatment problem of the crystal waste containing heavy metal is solved, and meanwhile waste recycling is achieved.
