The invention relates to the field of resources and environments, and discloses a method for preparing ceramsite by recycling polluted soil and boric sludge and ceramsite. The method comprises the following steps: sequentially mixing, aging and sintering the polluted soil and boric sludge to obtain ceramsite; wherein the sintering adopts a segmented heating mode, and the segmented heating comprises a first-stage heating and a second-stage heating. By adopting the method for preparing the ceramsite, the sintering temperature can be obviously reduced under the condition that a foaming agent and a fluxing agent with relatively high purity are not additionally added, the lightweight ceramsite with relatively low density and proper strength is obtained, heavy metals in the material can be fully fixed, and leaching of the heavy metals is avoided or reduced.
