The invention relates to the field of tower crane equipment dismantling methods, in particular to a method for dismantling a tower crane for extension of a large factory building, which comprises the following steps of: after the construction of transforming or extending a steel structural member is completed, enabling a balance arm of the tower crane to pass through a reserved channel of a high-rise factory building structure; a balance arm of the tower crane avoids the obstruction of a high-rise plant structure, so that a crane boom of the tower crane falls onto a temporary support arranged on a roof of a low-rise plant structure, and the crane boom is disassembled online and transported to the end part of the plant under the cooperation of a hoisting mast and the temporary support, and is hoisted to the ground by using an automobile crane; the balance arm is directly detached and hoisted to the ground by a high-span crane; the tower body is matched with a truck crane through a lifting system of the tower body, so that the tower body is disassembled in a self-descending manner; according to the tower crane for large factory building extension, through the three split-flow dismantling modes, the dismantling problem of the tower crane after a factory building roof is closed is solved.
