The invention discloses a system for pumped storage by using coal mine engineering to construct an underground vertical shaft space, which relates to the technical field of coal mine subsidence area treatment and comprises an upper reservoir, a distributed lower reservoir, an electromechanical chamber, a water diversion roadway, a tail water roadway, a surge chamber, a drain grating, a ventilation and transportation system and an underground water delivery channel. The upper reservoir is a reservoir constructed by utilizing a coal mining ground subsidence area, and the distributed lower reservoir is a large-diameter vertical shaft type space chamber constructed on the basis of an underground roadway of an underground coal mine. The system is mainly matched with a new energy power system, serves as an energy storage facility, provides peak regulation and valley filling services for a power grid, and promotes the development of new energy; the invention provides a transformation, detrapping and sustainable development approach for the treatment of the coal mining ground subsidence area and the closing and quitting of the coal mine.
