The invention provides a construction method of a lock catch steel pipe pile cofferdam, which comprises the following steps: step 1, planning and determining a construction position of the cofferdam; step 2, along the construction position of the cofferdam, a plurality of first backfill holes are constructed at intervals by using a rotary drilling machine and a steel casing, and a second backfill hole is constructed between every two adjacent first backfill holes; the adjacent first backfill holes and second backfill holes are crossed and overlapped; and 3, lock catch steel pipe pile inserting and driving construction is conducted on the first backfill holes and/or the second backfill holes along the construction position of the cofferdam, and a circle of lock catch steel pipe pile cofferdam is formed. According to the method, the first backfill hole and the second backfill hole are alternately constructed by using the rotary drilling machine through the steel casing by adopting a step-by-step replacement method, and then the lock catch steel pipe pile inserting and driving construction is performed on the backfill holes, so that the holes can be safely and efficiently formed, the lock catch steel pipe pile can be smoothly inserted and driven into the complex stratum, the operation is simple, and the popularization is convenient.
