The invention discloses a star-shaped high-performance polycarboxylic acid water reducing agent and a preparation method thereof, the water reducing agent is the star-shaped high-performance polycarboxylic acid water reducing agent, and the water reducing agent is prepared by changing the dosage of a chain transfer agent and accurately introducing a small monomer maleic anhydride with an adsorption group on a star-shaped initiator arm. Compared with the prior art, the star-shaped high-performance polycarboxylate superplasticizer and the preparation method thereof have the advantages that the problems of intramolecular crosslinking, uncontrollable polymerization process and the like possibly existing in preparation of a star-shaped structure polycarboxylate superplasticizer through traditional free radical polymerization are solved. The preparation method is simple, few in reaction steps, mild in reaction condition, free of harmful waste liquid, environmentally friendly and easy to industrialize.
