The roller coating robot comprises a chassis; a controller; the transverse moving mechanism is arranged on the chassis; the telescopic mechanism can be driven by the transverse moving mechanism to horizontally move relative to the working face; a lifting mechanism; the executing mechanism is used for carrying out roller coating on the working face, the executing mechanism can be driven by the telescopic mechanism to be close to or away from the working face, and the executing mechanism can be driven by the lifting mechanism to ascend and descend relative to the working face; the pressure detection mechanism is used for detecting the pressure of the executing mechanism abutting against the working face; and the controller can control the telescopic mechanism to change the driving force to the executing mechanism according to the feedback of the pressure detection mechanism, so that the executing mechanism keeps the pressure to the working surface firstly and then reduces the pressure to the working surface. The roller coating robot is matched with the corresponding roller coating method, so that the roller coating quality can be effectively improved, and manual work can be better replaced.
