The preparation method of the gypsum powder comprises the following steps: pretreating fluorgypsum, adding the modified high-molecular-weight polyethylene fiber, spray-drying mixed slurry and adding the rubber powder for mixing. According to the invention, the heated high molecular weight polyethylene fiber is added into the mixed solution of potassium permanganate and concentrated sulfuric acid for surface modification treatment, and then the modified high molecular weight polyethylene fiber is used as an additive to prepare the gypsum powder, so that the coagulation speed of the gypsum powder can be accelerated, and the flexural and compressive strength of the gypsum powder can be improved.
