Door configurations with integrated mechanisms for opening and releasing for closing are disclosed, wherein the elements of these mechanisms are located on or substantially on the body of the door itself. In some embodiments of the present disclosure, the door has a handle and two release mechanisms coupled thereto, one releasing mechanism releasing the lock and allowing the door to be opened and the other releasing mechanism releasing the catch and allowing the door to be closed. The two release mechanisms are coupled to the handle such that manipulation of the handle in one direction actuates one of the release mechanisms but does not actuate the other release mechanism, and manipulation of the handle in the other direction actuates the other release mechanism. In this manner, manipulation of the handle in one direction opens the door and manipulation of the handle in the other direction closes the door.
