The invention discloses a preparation method of a composite functional polycarboxylate superplasticizer. Modified polyether isopentenol polyoxyethylene ether is used as a functional large monomer, methyl acyloxyethyl trimethyl ammonium chloride, 2-cyano-3-ethyoxyl ethyl acrylate, acrylic acid and maleic anhydride are used as functional small monomers, a hydrogen peroxide-ascorbic acid redox system is used as an initiator, thiohydracrylic acid is used as a chain transfer agent, and a chain extender is used as a chain extender. The composite functional polycarboxylate superplasticizer with both mud resistance and slump loss resistance is prepared through an aqueous solution free radical polymerization method. Compared with a commercially available common polycarboxylic acid water reducing agent, the water reducing agent not only can maintain excellent dispersing performance in the presence of clay, but also has good slump retaining performance.
