The invention discloses a new and old underground diaphragm wall joint sudden gushing water rapid plugging device and method.The device comprises plugging plates, supporting plates, connecting pieces and elastic pieces, the plugging plates are arranged between the supporting plates and are telescopic, the connecting pieces are arranged between the plugging plates, the two ends of each connecting piece are connected with the plugging plates, the connecting pieces are connected through the elastic pieces, and the elastic pieces are arranged between the connecting pieces. The elastic piece drives the leaking stoppage plate to stretch through the connecting piece; the method comprises the steps of early-stage preparation work; by pressing the connecting piece in the device, the elastic piece is shrunk to drive the leaking stoppage plate to shrink, and then the shrunk device is aligned with the water gushing position of the joint to be put in; the position of the device is adjusted, the connecting piece is loosened, and after the device rebounds and is attached to the diaphragm wall, the supporting plate and the wall body of the diaphragm wall are fixedly connected through the fastening piece; a set number of devices are installed between the joints to complete the water gushing plugging operation; the method can effectively solve the problems that a traditional leaking stoppage method is poor in leaking stoppage effect, long in construction period and high in construction cost.
