The invention discloses a novel side slope protection device and a construction method thereof.The novel side slope protection device comprises a protection net, sleeving rings are fixedly connected to the crossed portions of ropes of the protection net, the novel side slope protection device further comprises a soil breaking assembly arranged on the inner sides of the sleeving rings, and unfolding assemblies are rotationally connected to the outer wall of one end of the soil breaking assembly in a circumferential array mode; the unfolding assembly comprises unfolding plates rotationally connected to the outer wall of one end of the soil breaking assembly in a circumferential array through hinges, baffles are fixedly connected to the two sides of the rear portion of the outer side end face of each unfolding plate, and through arrangement of the unfolding assembly, when the unfolding plates are embedded into the ground, the unfolding plates can be unfolded, so that the contact area between inserting rods and the ground is increased; and when the inserting rod needs to be pulled out of the ground, the inserting rod is subjected to resistance of the unfolding plate, the inserting rod is not prone to falling off from the interior of the ground even under the severe conditions such as rain wash and storm wind invasion, and the stability of slope protection is improved.
