The invention relates to a girder erection crane suitable for truss piece type installation of a steel truss girder and a bridge erection method. A temporary shelving platform for temporary storage of a bridge deck slab is arranged in a containing space of a rack structure; the two sets of longitudinal adjusting mechanisms are mounted at the top of the rack structure, and a cross beam assembly is mounted on the longitudinal adjusting mechanisms and connected with a lifting system through two transverse adjusting mechanisms; in the erecting process of a section of steel truss girder, stable adjustment of the lifting amplitude and the transverse lifting distance can be achieved through the longitudinal adjusting mechanism and the transverse adjusting mechanism, longitudinal and transverse position adjustment can be conducted in the lifting process of the lifting system, large-angle rotation adjustment is not needed, and therefore accurate adjustment of the elevation, the longitudinal position and the transverse position of a lifted object is achieved. All actions are jointly adjusted to improve the efficiency, and can also be independently adjusted without mutual influence; and the upper-layer bridge deck is lifted and temporarily stored on the temporary shelving platform before the lower-layer bridge deck is installed, so that the problem that the upper-layer bridge deck is difficult to lift from the lower part of the bridge after the lower-layer bridge deck is installed is effectively solved.
