The invention discloses a silicon-based ceramic core for manufacturing a turbofan engine and a preparation method thereof, the ceramic core is prepared from a base material and a mineralizer, the base material is quartz glass powder and borosilicate glass powder, and the mineralizer is alumina powder and zirconium silicate powder; wherein the quartz glass powder accounts for 70%-95% by weight, the borosilicate glass powder accounts for 1%-10% by weight, the alumina powder accounts for 1%-10% by weight, and the zirconium silicate powder accounts for 1%-10% by weight. The composite material is prepared through gel casting. By adjusting the formula of the raw material powder of the ceramic core and combining a gel-casting method, the ceramic core with high strength and small shrinkage rate is prepared and can be used for manufacturing turbofan engines, the sintering schedule is simple, the sintering period is short, and industrial production is facilitated.
