The invention provides coal gangue masonry mortar and a preparation method thereof, and relates to the technical field of coal gangue application. The concrete is prepared from the following components in parts by weight: 80 to 140 parts of cement, 140 to 840 parts of pretreated coal gangue, 0 to 740 parts of aggregate, 0 to 50 parts of fly ash, 0.1 to 0.5 part of plasticizer, 0 to 0.1 part of water-retaining agent and 0 to 0.15 part of sodium gluconate. According to the invention, the coal gangue is used for replacing part of natural gravel, so that the problem that huge pressure is caused to the ecological environment due to increasing shortage of natural gravel aggregate and excessive mining is solved, and the treatment problem of a large amount of solid waste is also reduced. By selecting proper raw materials and proportioning, the technical scheme of preparing the masonry mortar by directly crushing and screening a large amount of coal gangue raw materials without high-energy-consumption treatment is obtained. The whole formula is simple and reasonable, the coal gangue consumption is large, the used raw materials are low in cost and easy to purchase, and the production cost of the mortar can be effectively reduced.
