The invention provides a building steel structure and a construction method thereof. The building steel structure comprises a positioning foundation, a positioning frame, a steel structure column, a fastening component and a foundation beam. The positioning foundation is provided with a positioning hole. The bottom end of the positioning frame penetrates into the positioning hole, and at least part of the positioning frame extends into the positioning base so that the positioning frame can be fixed to the positioning base. The steel structure column is located above the positioning frame, and the steel structure column is provided with a mounting hole. The fastening component is connected to the positioning frame, and the fastening component penetrates through the mounting hole and is fixed to the steel structure column. A plurality of foundation steel bars are arranged in the foundation beam and penetrate through the positioning frame, so that the foundation beam, the positioning frame and the fastening component are integrated. The method has the advantages of being convenient to construct and high in construction positioning precision.
