According to the balcony guardrail with the high safety performance, through movable arrangement (with a certain movement stroke) of the guardrail, when a child climbs over the guardrail, the whole weight of the child can press the guardrail so as to enable the guardrail to move downwards, a tooth groove face is driven to move, a gear and a shaft body where the gear is located rotate under the meshing effect, and therefore the safety performance of the balcony guardrail is improved. The driving chain wheel fixed to the shaft body also rotates, the outer side protection structure is finally driven through chain transmission, when the driving chain wheel rotates to the horizontal state, the horizontal state of the driving chain wheel is locked through the resettable clamping structure, and imminent dangerous cases are protected. The resettable clamping structure is manually operated so that the outer side protection structure can be vertically placed again, the attractiveness of the balcony is not affected, and meanwhile the risk of damage is reduced due to the fact that the outer side protection structure is vertically attached to the wall.
