The invention discloses a water taking device and an installation method thereof.The water taking device comprises a support, the support comprises a support body and a support, the support body is provided with supporting legs, and the support slides at the tail ends of the supporting legs; the inclined strut assembly comprises an inclined strut beam, a first elastic piece, a buckle piece and a positioning buoy, one end of the inclined strut beam is hinged to the supporting leg, the inclined strut beam and the supporting leg are locked through the buckle piece, and the support can make contact with the buckle piece and eject the buckle piece out; the two ends of the first elastic piece are connected to the inclined supporting beam and the supporting leg respectively, and the positioning buoy has buoyancy and is clamped between the inclined supporting beam and the supporting leg; an airbag; a submersible pump; the pipeline system comprises a header pipe, an inflation pipe connected to the air bag and a water taking pipe connected to the submersible pump. The anti-toppling capacity of the water taking device is improved through the inclined supporting beams popped out when touching the bottom, and the corresponding positioning buoys can be popped out when the support touches the bottom, so that the bottom touching condition of the supporting legs can be determined without a sensor or a diver, the installation process is simplified, and the installation difficulty is reduced.
