The invention relates to the technical field of steel member construction, in particular to a heavy ultra-high steel member and a construction method thereof.The heavy ultra-high steel member comprises a vertically-arranged base layer steel column, the bottom of the base layer steel column is pre-buried and fixedly installed under the ground, and a plurality of coaxially-arranged upper steel member parts are sequentially and vertically installed at the top of the base layer steel column from bottom to top; the bottom of the upper steel structure component located on the lowermost layer is fixedly connected with the base layer steel column below the upper steel structure component, every two adjacent upper steel structure components are fixedly connected through a plurality of fasteners which are evenly arranged along the circumferences of the upper steel structure components at intervals, and side pulling pieces are connected between every two adjacent fasteners from top to bottom. According to the method, the upper steel structure components are sequentially stacked, constructed and fixed from bottom to top to complete assembly of the whole ultrahigh steel component, the connection firmness of the whole structure can be effectively guaranteed, and the connection strength between the adjacent upper steel structure components is effectively improved.
