The invention discloses a stand column type pile driver for building engineering construction. The stand column type pile driver comprises a crawler chassis, a pile frame and a hydraulic hammer. The pile frame is hinged to the crawler chassis, and the hydraulic hammer is mounted on the pile frame and can longitudinally translate along the pile frame; the hydraulic hammer comprises a shell, a hammer head slidably installed in the shell in the vertical direction, a hydraulic device used for driving the hammer head to lift upwards and a power assisting device used for applying pressure downwards to the hammer head when the hammer head moves downwards to hammer a pile. The lifting stroke of the hydraulic hammer head of the pile driver is short, and high impact force can be achieved without a hammer head with large dead weight.
