The invention discloses luminescent ceramic for high-temperature warning and a preparation method of the luminescent ceramic. The chemical formula of the luminescent ceramic is Ba1-x-yEuxDyySi2-zGezO5, x is greater than or equal to 0.01 and less than or equal to 0.05, y is greater than or equal to 0.01 and less than or equal to 0.06, and z is greater than or equal to 0.2 and less than or equal to 0.5. Ba2CO3, SiO2, GeO2, Eu2O3 and Dy2O3 are used as raw materials, and are subjected to grinding, drying, secondary grinding and reduction sintering to obtain the fluorescent powder. The luminescent ceramic prepared by the invention only shows weak light under the low-temperature condition of 60 DEG C or below, but the brightness of the ceramic is obviously enhanced when the temperature rises to 60-120 DEG C, so that a warning effect in a specific temperature range is achieved; the weather resistance is good, and after continuous circulation for 2160 hours at the temperature from room temperature to 180 DEG C in a high and low temperature circulation test box, the brightness of the coating still can be kept 90% or above of the original brightness.
