The invention discloses a balance weight system of a railway box girder steel formwork and a weight balancing method of the balance weight system, and the balance weight system comprises a box girder steel formwork body and supporting columns arranged on the left side and the right side of the box girder steel formwork body. Firstly, a box girder steel formwork body is clamped into a clamping groove in a balance block through a clamping block at the lower end, when the clamping block enters the clamping groove, connecting holes in the left side and the right side of the clamping block are aligned with through holes in the left side and the right side of the balance block, and fastening nuts are inserted into the through holes and the connecting holes, so that the clamping block is fixed into the balance block; the box girder steel formwork body is fixed to the upper end of the balance block, the front side and the rear side of the box girder steel formwork body are sealed, then materials are poured into the box girder steel formwork body for pouring, and through arrangement of the clamping blocks and the clamping grooves, butt joint of the box girder steel formwork body and the balance block is facilitated; and the construction progress is prevented from being influenced by plenty of time spent on butt joint of the box girder steel formwork body and the balance block.
