The invention discloses an early-strength polycarboxylate superplasticizer and a preparation method thereof. The early-strength polycarboxylate superplasticizer comprises an unsaturated polyether monomer, an unsaturated carboxylic acid monomer, a functional monomer 1, a functional monomer 2, a cation-containing functional monomer, an oxidizing agent, a chain transfer agent and a reducing agent. Wherein the functional monomer 1 is a compound containing an amide group, and the functional monomer 2 is a compound containing a boric acid group and a diethanol amine group at the same time. According to the early strength type polycarboxylate superplasticizer, the functional monomer 1, the functional monomer 2 and the cation-containing functional monomer are added, so that the formed early strength type polycarboxylate superplasticizer has better early strength.
