The invention discloses a main cable anti-slip device and an anti-slip method thereof, the main cable anti-slip device applying prestress comprises a main cable and a cable saddle used for installing the main cable, cable clamps are arranged on the main cable, an anti-slip inhaul cable is arranged between the cable saddle and the cable clamps located on the two sides of the cable saddle, the anti-slip inhaul cable is a flexible inhaul cable, and the anti-slip inhaul cable is connected with the main cable. The two ends of the flexible inhaul cable are anchored to the cable saddle and the cable clamp in the mode that certain prestress is applied to the two ends of the flexible inhaul cable. When the sliding force of the cable clamp is too large, the main cable anti-sliding device provides upward prestress for the cable clamp connecting structure, and the anti-sliding performance between the main cable and the cable clamp is improved; when a limit unbalanced load exists on one side of the cable saddle of the bridge tower, the main cable anti-sliding device can provide prestress opposite to the sliding direction for the main cable in a self-balancing mode, and the main cable is prevented from relatively sliding in the saddle groove of the cable saddle connecting structure. And meanwhile, the stress characteristics are converted and self-adaptively balanced in the system, and extra loads cannot be caused to other components such as the bridge tower and the stiffening beam.
