The invention discloses a construction method for a caisson type sump of a deep foundation pit, which comprises the following steps of: when a foundation construction working surface is higher than an underground water level, prefabricating a reinforced concrete prefabricated part of which the size is consistent with that of the sump, then digging the sump to a standard depth, and putting the prefabricated part into the sump. A connecting steel bar is reserved at one end of the prefabricated part, the connecting steel bar is located above the prefabricated part, the connecting steel bar is woven into a raft steel bar, a raft template is built to form a raft cavity, and concrete is poured into the raft cavity to form a raft, so that the foundation construction difficulty of a building can be simplified; construction of the sump is achieved when the foundation construction working face is higher than the underground water level, and the situation that the construction period of a building foundation is affected when the foundation construction working face is higher than the underground water level can be prevented.
