The invention discloses a construction method for erecting a double-layer prefabricated box girder bridge, which comprises the following steps of: arranging a prefabricated girder field on one side of the double-layer prefabricated box girder bridge, and prefabricating prefabricated box girders required by each bridge span in the prefabricated girder field; two rows of parallel gantry crane rails are arranged in the bridge erecting direction, and two gantry cranes are arranged on the gantry crane rails at intervals. The distance between the two rows of gantry crane rails is not smaller than the sum of the width of the precast beam yard and the width of the double-layer precast box girder bridge, so that the gantry crane stretches across the precast beam yard and the double-layer precast box girder bridge; and the two gantry cranes directly hoist and erect the prefabricated box girder from the prefabricated girder yard to a capping beam on the lower layer or the upper layer of the double-layer prefabricated box girder bridge. The prefabricated beam field is arranged close to the double-layer prefabricated box girder bridge, prefabricated box girders do not need to be transported, the prefabricated box girders are directly hoisted and erected to the upper-layer or lower-layer bent cap through the two gantry cranes, the construction time can be effectively saved, and construction site management is optimized.
