The invention discloses a benzene particle thermal insulation building block and a preparation process thereof. The benzene particle thermal insulation building block comprises a core material and a shell, the core material is prepared from the following raw materials in parts by weight: 450 to 550 parts of cement, 0.5 to 2 parts of hydroxypropyl methyl cellulose, 20 to 50 parts of glass fiber, 0.4 to 2 parts of foaming agent, 4 to 10 parts of gypsum, 1 to 3 parts of magnesium chloride, 2 to 5 parts of aluminum powder, 50 to 80 parts of coarse aggregate, 4 to 10 parts of polyphenyl granules, 0.6 to 4.5 parts of naphthalene sulfonate formaldehyde condensate, 0.2 to 2.3 parts of bone glue protein retarder, 0.1 to 1.2 parts of triethanolamine and 0.3 to 0.8 part of sodium sulfate; and 1.5 to 3.5 parts of an interfacial active agent. According to the invention, the polyphenyl granules, the naphthalene sulfonate formaldehyde condensate and the bone glue protein retarder are adopted in the raw materials for preparing the benzene granule thermal insulation building block, and play a synergistic promotion role, so that the purposes of improving the compressive strength and the thermal insulation effect of the benzene granule thermal insulation building block are achieved.
