The invention relates to a control method and system for an electric tail gate, and the control method comprises the steps: controlling the movement speed of the electric tail gate in a mode of combining proportional-integral adjustment with feedforward control in a movement process of the electric tail gate from a starting position to a critical position, wherein the critical position is the position when the distance between the electric tail gate and the current motion has the residual opening angle difference value; and in the process that the electric tail gate executes the motion of the residual opening angle difference value, the motion speed of the electric tail gate is controlled in the mode that the voltage decreases progressively along with time. Feedforward control is introduced on the basis of PI adjustment to control the movement speed of the electric tail gate 100, so that the electric tail gate 100 operates stably and responds quickly, and the electric tail gate 100 can be quickly started even when resistance is large.
