The invention belongs to the technical field of basalt fibers, and particularly relates to a PE basalt fiber composite modified asphalt mixture and a preparation method thereof. The preparation method of the PE basalt fiber composite modified asphalt mixture comprises the following steps: preparing a PE basalt fiber particle composite material: immersing basalt fibers into a complexing agent, adding a granulating agent, and carrying out a hydrothermal reaction to obtain the PE basalt fiber particle composite material, and preparing the PE basalt fiber composite modified asphalt mixture: mixing the obtained PE basalt fiber particle composite material with an asphalt mixture to obtain the PE basalt fiber composite modified asphalt mixture. The method comprises the following steps: modifying asphalt by adopting polyethylene, preparing PE basalt fiber particles by taking polyethylene (PE) and basalt fibers as base materials under the action of a granulating agent, mixing the PE basalt fiber particles with mineral aggregates at 170-180 DEG C, uniformly melting the polyethylene, mixing the polyethylene with the asphalt, and permeating a polyethylene film into the asphalt, so that the performance of the asphalt of the aggregate is improved; and the polyethylene is rubbed by the aggregate and then is coated on the surface of the aggregate so as to modify the asphalt.
