The invention provides a deck clamp capable of being used for constructing a deck and a using method of the deck clamp. The deck clamp may include a clamp portion and a spacer. The clamp portion and a portion of the spacer are both receivable within a recess for a deck panel in a deck. Accordingly, the deck clip may be selectively secured to a deck panel. In addition, the deck clip may be configured to receive a fastener for anchoring the deck clip to a joist. Thus, the deck clip may be used to couple a deck panel to a joist. Advantageously, the deck clamp may be used to build a deck without exposed fasteners, the geometry of the spacer may contribute to the formation of a consistent gap between adjacent deck panels, and the clamping portion may include a serrated surface for improving the retention of the deck panels.
