The invention relates to a method for producing a saltpetering inhibitor and a flocculating agent by using red mud, and belongs to the technical field of comprehensive utilization of solid waste resources. The method comprises the following steps: (1) adding red mud into an acid leaching reaction kettle, and then adding a sulfuric acid solution prepared from water, waste sulfuric acid and concentrated sulfuric acid; (2) heating the acid leaching reaction kettle while stirring, and carrying out acid leaching; (3) after the acid leaching is finished, carrying out filter pressing by using a filter press to obtain filtrate and a filter cake; (4) replacing the waste acid in the step (1) with the filtrate, repeating the steps (1) to (3) for multiple times, transferring the obtained filtrate into a polymerization reaction kettle, merging filter cakes obtained each time, and uniformly mixing to obtain the saltpetering inhibitor; and (5) heating the filtrate in the polymerization reaction kettle, dropwise adding a hydrogen peroxide solution to oxidize Fe < 2 + > into Fe < 3 + >, dropwise adding a Na0H solution, adjusting the pH value of the filtrate, and carrying out polymerization reaction to obtain the flocculant.
