The invention discloses a land-saving toll station which comprises a plurality of gate sets and a plurality of lanes, the gate sets correspond to the lanes one to one, each gate set comprises a plurality of gate openings, the opening directions of the gate openings are the same, and the gate openings are sequentially arranged in parallel in a staggered progressive mode in the vehicle advancing direction. An inclined angle is formed between the opening direction of each gate opening and the extending direction of the corresponding lane, and openings in the two ends of each gate opening are connected with the corresponding lane.
