The invention discloses lightweight thermal insulation concrete and a preparation method thereof. The concrete comprises the following raw materials in parts by weight: 60-100 parts of Portland cement; 150 to 250 parts of water; 100 to 170 parts of broken stone; 200 to 310 parts of river sand; 30 to 45 parts of polyurethane emulsion modified porous ceramsite; 20 to 30 parts of glass beads; 4-8 parts of a foaming agent; and 4-9 parts of a polycarboxylic acid water reducer. The concrete provided by the invention has the advantages of light weight, good thermal insulation performance, difficulty in cracking and the like.
