The present invention addresses the problem of providing a vehicle cover lock device having an emergency cover lock release mechanism capable of ensuring good and reliable operability by a simple configuration having a small number of components. The cover locking device for the vehicle is provided with: a driving actuator; a lock pin provided so as to be movable between a position where one end is engaged with the cover body and maintains the closed state of the cover body and a position where the lock pin is retracted in the axial direction by the driving force of the driving actuator and the engagement with the cover body is released; a handle member held by a user; and a cable, one end of which is connected to the other end of the lock pin, the other end of which is connected to a part of the handle member, and which retreats the lock pin in the axial direction and releases the engagement with the cover body when the handle member is pulled. Wherein the handle part is integrally formed with a fixing clamp part for fixing the handle part on a vehicle internal structure; when the handle member is fixed to the vehicle interior structure by the fixing clip, the handle member is free to tilt relative to the fixing surface.
