The invention provides a coal gangue-based spherical multi-component composite material for coal mine filling and a preparation method thereof, the material comprises a component A and a component B, the component A is prepared from coal gangue, clay, glutinous rice flour, a binder and water as raw materials, and the component B is prepared from a cementing material, a retarder, lime and water as raw materials. Two traditional filling materials of coal gangue and clay are granulated and then filled, a traditional powder filling mode is abandoned, conveying of filling aggregate is promoted through low friction force and good fluidity of the materials after balling, meanwhile, cement paste and the aggregate are separately filled, and the filling efficiency is improved. Pipeline blockage caused by aggregate accumulation or local condensation is fully avoided, and the pipeline is easier to repair and dredge due to branch pipeline operation.
